Learning Technology

When paired with appropriate instructional strategies, the right learning technology can elevate the student experience, improve engagement, and facilitate an effective and efficient learning process. 

In addition to the core learning management system, Canvas, the tools listed below are licensed by Arizona State University and The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering to allow instructors to enhance learning experiences.

Ally

Ally is a tool that integrates seamlessly with the Canvas learning management system to automatically check accessibility of course content, including files uploaded by instructors.

Ed Discussion

Ed Discussion is a student-driven, scaled QA system designed to foster student engagement and collaboration with a feature-rich set of discussion and collaboration tools.

FSE Cloud Classroom (Apporto)

FSE Cloud Classroom is a virtual environment hosted in the cloud that provides Fulton students immediate access to software used in many Fulton Engineering courses directly from a browser window.

Google Workspace

Google tools are ideal for working collaboratively. Syncing across all users in real-time allows for commenting, chatting and editing while working on the same document.

Gradescope

Gradescope helps educators grade assessments, homework, and exams online by streamlining the grading process.

Honorlock

Online exams shouldn’t be hard. With Honorlock, you can proctor like you’re there. All you need to do is set the exam guidelines. We do the rest.

LMS (Canvas)

The Instructure Learning Platform is the open, reliable, extensible learning ecosystem enabling the just-right digital learning environment for educators, students, and institutions.

PlayPosit

Playposit is an interactive web-based video platform that allows educators to provide formative assessment both inside and outside the classroom.

Respondus

Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) is a custom browser that locks down your computer and prevents students from opening unauthorized applications during an exam.

Screencast-O-Matic

Screencast-O-Matic is a screencasting and video editing software tool that can be launched directly from a browser.

Slack

Slack is an ASU licensed, enterprise-wide instant messaging tool that enables real-time communications and connections for collaborating, content sharing, learning, and more. 

Yellowdig

Yellowdig is a social learning platform and student engagement tool that can be used within the Canvas learning environment. It enables students and instructors to easily share articles, websites, and multimedia that relate to their course content. 

YouTube – ASU Account

Members of the ASU community can utilize YouTube to upload and share media content within or outside of Canvas. YouTube gives instructors the peace of mind knowing that their content is stored online safely and increases the accessibility.

Zoom

Zoom provides one consistent enterprise experience, providing online meetings, webinars, virtual conference rooms, and the next generation of voice and phone systems.
