Studio Resource:
Getting Ready for Your Session
Recording in the studio can feel different from teaching in a classroom, so preparing yourself is just as important as preparing your slides.
Hydration and Comfort
Studio lights are bright and warm, designed to make you look your best on camera. Bring a spill-proof water bottle and hydrate before and during your session.
Attire Guidelines
To avoid visual issues on camera:
- Do not wear green (blends with the green screen).
- Avoid bright white clothing, which merges with the background.
- Skip complex patterns or stripes, which distort on video.
- Limit jewelry that makes noise when you move or tap the desk.
The best choice is dark, solid colors. Business attire such as polos, suits, or dresses is recommended.
What to Bring
- Notes (printed or digital).
- USB with presentation.
- Laptop if desired. (?)
- Water bottle.
Arrival Process
Arrive on time—studio operators will already have the equipment and lighting set up 15 minutes early. During the summer, it’s advisable to show up several minutes early and cool off before showtime. Use the first few minutes to review your game plan with the operator: how many presentations you plan to record, whether you’ll use notes, or if you’ll need to run a demo, etc. Sharing your plan ensures that our talented media team can support you effectively.
