Learning Experience Designer Associate
What I Do
I collaborate closely with faculty, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to design and deliver learner-centered content. I support developing instructional materials, integrating learning technologies, and applying principles from learning sciences to enhance educational experiences and improve learning outcomes.
What I Did
Most recently, I worked as a Management Intern for Fulton’s Student Success and Engagement office. I helped redesign onboarding and training processes across departments and supported programs like the Fulton Accelerated Community Engagement (FACE) initiative and the Experiential Learning Grant.
Prior to working at ASU, I began my career at a large insurance brokerage firm, obtaining my Property and Casualty Insurance license and working as an Assistant Account Representative. However, I soon realized that the work didn’t align with my long-term interests. I found myself more interested in analyzing and improving the systems behind the work than in the day-to-day role itself.
What I Studied
After earning my BA in Economics from the University of Arizona in 2018, I became increasingly fascinated by the intersection of engineering and psychology, and how they can be integrated to improve systems and user experiences. That realization led me to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in human systems engineering, focusing on User Experience in 2023. I’ve continued on this path, earning an MS in 2024 and now pursuing a PhD in Human Systems Engineering, my “final boss” in this academic journey.
What I Like
I’m a bit of a multipotentialite, as I have a wide range of interests and creative pursuits, which sometimes gets me into trouble because I tend to pick up more hobbies than I can keep up with. Lately, I’ve been into sewing, embroidery, and baking, but ask me again in a couple of months, and that might change! My long-time loves include board games, video games, hiking, reading, matcha, coffee, and, of course, dogs. My husband and I are also huge foodies, constantly scouring the Valley for incredible food and hidden gems.
Favorite FSE Value
Building a foundation for all to be successful! This value strongly resonates with me because, too often, systems are designed to benefit a specific group rather than the broader community. By intentionally creating and improving systems with individual needs in mind, we can begin to offer more equitable opportunities for everyone. When we lay strong, inclusive foundations, we don’t just help people succeed; we remove barriers that prevent them from even starting. This mirrors the spirit of the ASU Charter, which states that success should be measured not by whom we exclude, but by whom we include and how they succeed. That’s where true equity begins, and that’s the kind of impact I strive to make.
