In this final book study meeting of the semester, we will be discussing Chapters 4 and 5 of Geeky Pedagogy: A Guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachers.

Ready to connect with others and build our book study community’s collective knowledge? This semester we will ‘nerd out’ together to collectively read Geeky Pedagogy: A Guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachers (2019) by Jessamyn Neuhaus. The LTH Book Study will meet virtually for 3 Zoom meetings, every 3 weeks during the spring 2024 semester.

Geeky Pedagogy is a funny, evidence-based, multidisciplinary, pragmatic, highly readable guide to the process of learning and relearning how to be an effective college teacher. It is the first college teaching guide that encourages faculty to embrace their inner nerd, inviting readers to view themselves and their teaching work in light of contemporary discourse that celebrates increasingly diverse geek culture and explores stereotypes about super-smart introverts.

An e-book is available through the ASU library, or please contact Kristen Peña to inquire about physical/audiobook options.
