LTH Book Study: Distracted by James Lang
Ready to connect with others and build our book study community’s collective knowledge? This semester we will read Distracted: Why Students Can’t Focus and What You Can Do About It by James Lang.
The LTH Book Study will meet virtually for 3 Zoom meetings, every 3 weeks during the spring 2025 semester.
In Distracted, Lang challenges conventional views on attention in education, arguing that distractions are not the enemy but a natural part of how the brain learns. The author combines cutting-edge research with practical strategies to reimagine classrooms as dynamic environments that harness students’ inherent curiosity. By aligning teaching methods with how the brain processes and synthesizes information, Lang provides educators with a transformative blueprint for fostering deeper engagement and attention in a world full of competing stimuli.
An e-book is available through the ASU library, or please contact Kristen Peña to inquire about physical/audiobook options.
