Standard Studio Lecture
Standard studio lecture recordings are the most commonly produced type of videos. In this setting, an instructor presents their lectures in front of a green screen. The benefit of this type of this video is that it most closely parallels the in-classroom experience, while requiring no additional effort on the part of the instructor.
Lightboard Studio Lecture
A lightboard recording emulates and improves the “chalkboard talk” experience for your online students. This eye-catching format is well-suited for STEM courses that include heavy use of equations and diagrams, and allows the faculty member to deliver his or her message in an innovative way that feels more natural.
Meet the Faculty
A meet the faculty video allows an online student to get to know you more personally than is otherwise possible in a virtual setting.
A course intro video grabs the student’s attention and demonstrates why he or she should be interested in and excited about the skills and knowledge they will obtain by completing the course.
Interactive learning experiences foster active engagement, allow for self-paced learning, and provide students with immediate feedback. LTH’s interactive multimedia specialists collaborate directly with Learning Designers and FSE faculty to develop interactive learning opportunities that capture student attention and improve learning outcomes.
XR (Extended Reality) Development
Extended Reality (XR), encompassing Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), revolutionizes learning for FSE students. Our interactive media, developed in collaboration with expert designers and faculty, breaks traditional classroom boundaries and offers immersive, practical experiences for students to explore and apply theoretical knowledge.
Virtual Field Trips
A virtual field trip allows the students to gain direct experience interacting with an environment that it may not be feasible to have a class physically visit. This virtual field trip of the local business Prisma Graphics allows the student an inside look at the journey of a print job through the various departments, from contract acquisition to delivery. This short video was created to supplement the student learning experience in lieu of a physical visit.
Capturing your live event in a high-quality and well-produced video format allows the recorded material to be used in online delivery over and over again, for as long as the content is relevant.
Concepts delivered through animation more effectively grab the student’s attention, keep them engaged, and boost their recall and retention of information. In this example, animation is used to enhance the presentation of a lesson in the history of Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing.
Module Intro Videos
Start each module with a relevant and exciting introduction to establish context for learners and demonstrate why the content is meaningful. Relevance and importance, when properly established, capture the student’s attention, provide a roadmap for learning, and ultimately enhance student success.
Using an animated avatar fosters improved learner engagement, student retention, makes you stand out, and makes your interactions with the students more memorable. It also allows the faculty member to deliver their lecture in a creative format that does not require them to be on camera.
The interview format gives you the opportunity to ask your guest speaker precisely what you wish for them to answer, and does not require him or her to prepare a presentation in advance. This format provides a fluid, engaging, and authentic conversational experience.
The fireside chat format provides an informal, direct, real-time interaction between the faculty member and his or her students, giving them the opportunity to engage in synchronous dialogue in an innovative manner.
